Put it on the slate!

Hello blog friends and welcome.

It's a short blog post and a short tutorial today.  I'm a big believer in using my stamps- and crafting stash - for uses other that paper crafts and when I spotted these slate coasters I knew I wanted to use them for home decor.  This is how they came out -

Here's how I did it - with tissue paper, Staz-On and clear floor wax.

The clear wax makes a great adhesive/polish.  It's acrylic based and is very tough - it's made to be walked on, after all.  The first batch I made into wall hangings by gluing a loop of garden twine onto the reverse (I used epoxy putty - hot glue was too easy to pull away) and we sold them at a charity fundraiser. They'd make great small gifts and at £5 for a set of four coasters, they're very inexpensive as well.

I hope you like them - and if so, please let me know.  I'd also love it if you subscribe to my YouTube channel or like my Facebook page.   Thank you for visiting - and please come back soon!

I made these little boxes to hold soaps, but they would work just as well for any small, flat item  They are quick and easy to do.  Here's the plan and measurements -
And here's the tutorial -

Wondrous wreath card

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.

Today's post is...a Christmas card.  I know, I know, it's only July...but when you make cards you can't start on Christmas too soon.

This stamp set was the first one I bought from Stampin' Up! and I'm so pleased that it's in the Annual Catalogue now. It has a matching set of Framelits dies as well, but I didn't use them on this card.

This card would be easy to make in batches, as well.

Here's the tutorial -

And here's what I used to make it.  ( Don't forget to use the Hostess code  - in the sidebar - when you shop with me!)  See you soon!

Tut, Tut!

Hello blog friends, thank you for stopping by!

It feels like a very long time since I blogged last, and that's because last week's list was early.  Did you enjoy the blog hop?  It was so much fun! Anyway, it's back to normal this week with this little window-front box.

The box holds a cake of clear soap in the shape of King Tutankhamen's death mask -

which will be a little extra gift for my SIL on her birthday, which will have taken place by the time you read this.  She loves anything about ancient Egypt.  I chose colours that I hoped would be reminiscent of the famous gold mask.

Here's the tutorial - keep watching to the end for a special guest appearance by Mysti the cat!

Thank you for visiting - I do hope you enjoyed it.  See you soon!
