Rock Star!

Hello and welcome!

You might know that I love me an action card.  I've always been fascinated by pop-ups and paper engineering and can never resist attempting to recreate a new one. So when I came across this rocking panel mechanism I had to give it a try!

I found a tutorial on YouTube (at Ankita's Craft Corner) and here's my version.   I'm really pleased with the way it came out!
This is a card type that I will definitely be trying again, maybe in a different size .  I hope you give it a try - don't forget to let me know how you get on!

Keep crafting,

By the book...

Hello and welcome!
Well, the ol’ blog has been neglected a bit just lately!  Today’s project was a long one so I split it into three tutorials – but I didn’t want to post three blogs on the same subject!

Taking card and/or paper and making it look like something else fascinates me and over the years I’ve learned a few techniques for altering a plain bit of card.  I save all the bits of greyboard/chipboard that are used to protect Stampin’ Up! cardstock in transit so that I can upcycle them later!

Today’s faux book uses one of my favourite techniques for making “leather”.  I’ve made a playlist of the three tutorials so you can watch the process from start to end –

Don’t worry, normal service will be resumed with the next post!

See you soon,

Keep crafting,

All my love

Hello, and welcome!

A quick card today!  I love monochrome with just a pop of red- I think it's rather chic!

It's a handy way of using up some of those scraps of card that seem to multiply when nobody's looking!

I made it like this -

This card would be good to send for any occasion and the strong colour scheme is gender-neutral.

Till next time,

Favourite things - faceted gift bag

Hello and welcome!

It’s Favourite Things time – in this case, this faceted gift bag.

I just LOVE the shape – and the Perennial Essence paper.  This little gift bag works well made with 4, 5 or 6 facets (I did try it with 3 but it didn’t end well).  I particularly like the 5-facet version, so that’s what I’ve made today.

Would you like to make this bag with a different number of facets or in a different size? Want a calculator to help you?  I have a Google class with spreadsheets to help you resize several styes of box! Go to classroom.google.com, sign in (if you don't have a Google account you will need to set one up - it's easy and FREE!) and join the class with the code jhab6d

Glitzy Globe card

Hello and welcome!

Today I’ve been playing with some of the treasures from the new Autumn/Winter catalogue – which is now AVAILABLE - (Yaay!) to make my very first Christmas card of 2019!

I love snow globes and I absolutely adore these from Stampin’ Up!  They are a bit special, shaped to fit the companion dies, with super-strong adhesive on both sides, so you can even put glitter inside and it won’t work its way out of the shaker dome.

You can even fill them with water, stick them to a piece of Window Sheet and they won’t leak!  (Yes, I have tried it! I’m having some difficulty in getting the right amount of water in the dome.  I think it’s full and it turns out to be only half-full, which looks a bit sad…watch this space though!)

Here’s what I did.

I’m really happy with the way this came out – I especially love the gold and silver Delicata ink pads!
Keep crafting,

Keren
