The sky's the limit

Hi everyone!  Weren't expecting me to blog on a Thursday, were you?  Normally I blog - and post a YouTube tutorial - on Saturdays and Tuesdays.  Just for a while, however, I'm experimenting with a bit of bonus blogging.  I may pop up on any day...expect the unexpected!

I showed an into-the-frame card earlier this week, so I thought it was only fair to show you the out-of-the-frame card.

I wanted to get this card done in a big hurry because this stamp set is one of those that will be retiring on February 15, so if you've got your eye on it you need to move fast.  You can't buy it - but you can get it for free when your order qualifies for Sale-A-Bration.  Qualify for two items and you can get the DSP I used as well.  Good deal, eh?  Here's the tutorial -

Oh, and if you join the SU team during Sale-A-Bration you get to choose £160-worth of items for your starter kit instead of the usual £120-worth, so if you've been thinking of joining now is a very good time to do it.

See you Saturday!

World's Greatest

Hello everyone, thank you for visiting!

Today I'm sharing a card I made using the Into the Frame technique.

It's also going to be my husband's birthday card.

Into the Frame is a little bit more fiddly than Out of the Frame (I did an Out of the Frame card a while ago) because you are cutting inside the piece that's being cut away so it makes it a bit trickier.

Here's how I made the card -

(I am loving the Going Places papers from the Spring/Summer Catalogue - you can see a bit of one of them in the background)

I'll be back again soon, but for now,

Keren

The sweet smell of...

Have you seen the Blooming" Heart die in the SU catalogue yet?  It's so beautiful, delicate and filigree and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to play with it.

I had a potpourri jar with a filigree lid and this was the inspiration for this box.

Inside the box is an organza gift bag filled with rose petal confetti and fragrance granules so that it smells sweet.

Here's how it goes together -

PS - If you want to see what's in the Spring/Summer catalogue, there’s a link to the PDF version at the bottom of this page, just click on the link.  To get your hands on a real-world copy, get in touch with your Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, they’ll be able to help you.  And don’t forget – Sale-A-Bration is on until the end of March, so for every £45 you spend in one order (before P &P) you can choose an item from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue for FREE.  Good deal or what?

See you soon!

Hello Sweet Friend

First of all, an apology for the absence of this blog on Saturday.  It was supposed to be a return to the Simply Sketched Saturday channel after the Christmas hiatus.  It didn't happen due to circumstances beyond our control but it was only postponed on Friday afternoon and I didn't have anything that I could put in its place, so - no blog.  Sorry about that, and we are now aiming for January 30th,

Today's card is a clean and simple project, using a "fuaxnamel" technique.
I love the look of transparent enamel on a silver background and that was the look I wanted to achieve.

I coloured PVA with Stampin' Up! Re-inkers.  PVA dries clear and re-inkers are transparent, so that the underlying silver can still reflect the light.

This is a good project for using up small scraps of card.  Take a look at how I made the card -

Thank you for visiting - come back soon!

Fun with fancy folds

Hello and welcome to my blog.

I do enjoy cards that are a bit out of the ordinary and origami fascinates me - so when I came across this style of card I wanted to make one.

Don't you love this paper and the co-oridanting dies?  We SU demonstrators get to see the new catalogues and to order from them ahead of time and this bundle was the first thing that went on my list.  And just by ordering the bundle, I qualified for a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue as well- bargain!  I went for the co-ordinating stamp set and used it on the inside of the card

Here's  how it goes together -

(If you want written instructions you can find diagrams here.)

If you've ever thought about becoming a SU demo, Sale-A-Bration is a great time to join.  Normally your starter kit gets you £120-worth of items (anything you choose from the catalogues) for £99, but during Sale-A-Bration you can choose £160-worth.  If you'd like to know more contact your SU demonstrator - or I'll be happy to help.

It's Sale-A-Bration time

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog.  It’s good to have you here.

The new Spring-Summer catalogue is open for business AND It’s Sale-A-Bration time again.  This is the time of year you can earn FREE products from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue with every order of £45 or more (before P & P).

One of the advantages of being a Demonstrator is that we get access to the new products before they’re made available to everyone else and that includes the Sale-A-Bration items.  (and if you were thinking of joining SU as a demonstrator now is a very good time - we have a really good joining offer at the moment - get in touch for more details!)

Today’s project is a CASE (that’s Copy And Share Everything) from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.  Here’s the original –

And here’s my interpretation, using the free Designer Vellum stack and the free stamp set.

If you want a copy of the catalogues, get in touch with your SU demonstrator.   (If you don't have a demonstrator yet, you can find one by using the Demonstrator Finder on the SU website, or get in touch with me and I'll do my best to help.)

Star bright

Hello there, and welcome to my blog.  Here's today's project- a triple easel card.

The original version I saw used heart die-cuts;  sadly, Stampin' Up! retired their heart-shaped dies so when I wanted to make this one I needed to use a different set of framelits - and I thought the stars would work...

(Sorry the picture's so dark - it's been really miserable weather-wise here lately and the light is not good.  I have a mini-studio but putting it up is the surest way of attracting the cat's attention and it's next to impossible to get there out again)

Just to be different, I'm not using items from the new SU catalogue or Sale-A-Bration event though they both go live today - I wanted to use the Bohemian papers from the Annual catalogue, because I love these beautiful rich colours so much.  So I did.

Here's the tutorial-

I hope that you enjoy - I'd love to hear what you think.

Birthday Balloons

Hello everyone, and a Happy New Year to you. I want to say thank you to everyone who's followed my blog posts, who've chosen to subscribe to my YouTube channel, or has shopped with me in 2015.  I get so excited and I really appreciate every one of you.

I'm looking forward to what's coming in 2016, and I hope you are too.  In the Stampin' Up! world there's a brand new catalogue opening for business on 5 January and Sale-a-Bration will be starting as well...so much loveliness coming your way.  If you shopped with me in 2015 I will be posting out the Spring/Summer catalogue over the next few days.  (If you shop with another SU demonstrator, contact them for your copy)

Now, having whetted your appetite, I'm going to be a real tease and share a project using items from the Annual catalogue, which is still open.

I love acetate, it creates such a magical look - and when you want to make it look as if balloons are floating in the air, what else could you use? Of course, making a card out of acetate (aka Window Sheet) has its own problems - but there are ways and means of getting over them.  Here's the tutorial.

Thank you, once more, for your visit, and I hope that 2016 brings you everything you hope for.

Crafty Hugs,

Keren
