Cheeky Chick!

Hi bloggists, and welcome.

We’re down to the last few days of Sale-a-Bration 2017 and hasn’t it been a great one?  So sad to think it’s nearly all over for another year.

One of the advantages of being a SU demo is that you get early access to some products and the “Hey Chick” stamps were one of the sets that were available ahead of time.  When I first saw them, I didn’t think I was going to use them very much – I was SO wrong!  They’ve been among my favourite sets and I’m going to miss demonstrating with them, so I wanted to play with these cheeky chickens one more time.

Here’s what I did –

There’s still time – just! – to get hold of the “Hey Chick” stamps – or anything else in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue that’s in stock - but only for a couple of days.  After Friday, it’s all over for another year (sob!)

By the way, did you know that the Sweet Home stamps and dies were carried over from the Autumn/Winter catalogue?  I’m so pleased about that as I love that cute little house.

Thanks for visiting,

See you soon,

Bunny Treat box

Hello bloggists and welcome.

It took me a while to decide to get the Curvy Keepsake box die.  I admit it, it wasn't until recently that I took the plunge.

This is the first project that I have made using it-what do you think?

I did use a few different dies to make it, and if you don't have all the different sets that I did, then you could try cutting the ears freehand. I was happy to find that the petal dies from the Flower Fair set made great bunny ears!

Here's the tutorial.

I love how it came out - and I think I'm going to have a go at making some more characters!  It's so much fun.

There'll be a YouTube tutorial in due course, but let's not spoil the blog-hopping fun just now!  Why not make your way along to Heidi at the

Tasty Truck Slider Card

Hello Bloggists, and welcome.

According to Mr Google, who knows everything, yesterday was the first day of spring, and although the morning started off a bit wet and windy where I live, by the afternoon the sun had come out and it was looking much more , well, spring-like.
Today’s card is quite spring – like – or at least, I think so.
I used some of the stamps from the Tasty Trucks Sale-A-Bration set as well as items from the annual and spring/summer catalogues.  It’s another action card .
It was lots of fun to make and very straightforward.  Here’s how I made it -

I don’t want to rush you, but there aren’t that many days left in this year’s Sale-a-Bration and that means that you don’t have long to get your hands on the lovely things you can earn for FREE when your order is over £45 (before p&p).

You’ve also only got a few days left to benefit from the joining offer.  I haven’t said much about this, but if you’re thinking of joining SU, now is a very good time.   Usually, when you join, your Starter Kit costs you £99 and you choose £130-worth of items.  Until the end of March, you can also choose 2 stamp sets (from any of the catalogues) for free. And once you join, you also benefit from the demonstrator discount.  (If you’d like to know more about joining my team, please get in touch!)

That's all for now,

See you again soon, I hope!

Hey Chick! Egg Carton

Hello bloggists and welcome!

I can't believe that it's almost the end of March and that Sale-a-Bration will soon be over.  In fact, this is the last-but-one Sale-a-Bration Saturday - how mad is that?

I didn't think I'd get much use out of the rather funky chickens in the "Hey Chick" set, but they've grown on me and I shall miss demonstrating with them when they're no longer available.  Of course, they're a perfect match for the mini egg boxes in the Spring-Summer catalogue and it would have been wrong not to use them together.  Add a bit of bling with the Mint Macaron Glimmer paper and you've got a rather neat way of presenting Easter treats.

Here's the tutorial -

Don't forget, if you want to get your hands on some of the super things you can earn for FREE (everyone's favourite price!)  in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue, you need to act now.  When they're gone, they're gone and after March 31 they're gone for good!

That's me done for today, back again soon!

Rustic Heart

Hello bloggists, and welcome.

Here's today's project. I thought I'd try a bit of home decor today.   I bought this Willow heart some time ago and it’s been waiting for the right product to use with it to come along ever since.

When I first saw the Succulents dies in the catalogue, I wasn't all that impressed. That was before I saw what other people have been doing with them - and then I just had to have them! With the right shaping and inking, they are so realistic looking. Here's how I made it -

I put the wreath  together using  hot glue, and  whenever I use my glue gun/pen  in a project, I always get asked about it. If you're in the UK, here's a link to where I got mine from.

I had a look to find a US equivalent, but it doesn't seem to be on sale there. If you're looking for something similar, look for glue gun with an l-ion  rechargeable battery. The kind that are powered  by AA batteries lose power very quickly.

That's it for today, and thank you for joining me.
See you again soon!

Wedding Card

Hello bloggists,  and welcome.
Sometimes, you just want a card in a hurry. Or you just want to make a quick and easy card. Today, I've made a card for some friends who are getting married.
And, although it was quick and easy to make, I do think that it is quite elegant as well.

Because it is so simple in design, when I made the tutorial I had time to share some hints and tips for stamping and embossing.

Here’s the tutorial.

.
I hope the happy couple like it- do you think they will?.

That's all for now,

Love is in the Air

Hello bloggers, and welcome.

Can you believe it ? We're nearly half way through March already! That means that there's not long left to get your hands on the super goodies that you can get for free from the Sale-a- bration catalogue so if there's anything that you're fancying, don't hang around, get your order in now!

What about this glimmer paper - isn't it gorgeous?

Today's project is a quick an easy one that features the Bermuda Bay Glimmer paper. Just one die cut on plain black card, a bit of stamping, and you're done.

Here's how I did it -
Super easy!

Don't you just LOVE this colour?  I bet you can think of lots of things you could use it for!

Rockabye Baby

Hi bloggists, and welcome.

Cute's not my thing.  And I find it very hard to explain why I love the Moon Baby stamps so much!  I suppose it's just the right side of cute for me.

I really wanted to make the baby rock, too.  Last year I made a card with a tilt-pivot mechanism and this card works the same way, except that the mechanism is at the back, instead of the front.

It's quite hard to show it in action, but I'll have a try -

Here's the tutorial

I used a screw punch -you can find a similar one  here  - a Crop-o-Dile Big Bite would also work.  Or just make a hole with a piercing tool, but a smooth edge helps the movement happen.

Hope you enjoyed this video.

Clear window treat box

Hello bloggists, and  welcome.

Inspiration comes from strange places sometimes.  I was shopping when I saw treat boxes in the bakery section. They had a clear display window and were a good size to fit some cupcakes or cookies. And I thought, I wonder if I could make something like that?.

This is my version. I used the Project Life Paperclips dies.  This set seems to get overlooked a bit, but it's a very useful basic set.

Here's how I made it.

What do you think?

Today's Sale-a-bration Saturday project is a quick and easy one. I love the funky chicken in the Hey Chick set!

Up and Away - Twist Pop-up card

Hello bloggists, and welcome.
If you follow my blog or subscribe to my YouTube channel, you might have realised that I enjoy making action cards and I'm always happy when I come across a style I haven't made before.

I made one of these twist pop up cards back in the summer. They were really popular at the time, with lots of people making them.  I followed these instructions to make my first one.

However, since then, I've discovered that I already had instructions for a different method of achieving the same result in one of my favourite reference books (Pop-up!a Manual of Paper Mechanisms, by Duncan Birmingham, in case you're interested.  The book is out of print, but you might be able to find a second-hand copy.)

Take a look and see what you think-

This kind of card is very impressive but not really that hard to make.  Give it a try!
