InspireINK Blog Hop - Sketch

Hello, and welcome!

It's Inspireink Blog Hop day, when this blog links up with others the challenge to bring you lots of inspiration!  This time the theme has been set by lovely Hannah McCurley, and she has chosen a sketch -

The advantage of using a sketch as the basis for a project is that all the tricky composition has been done for you, so sketches are a great blessing for a crafter in a hurry, and there are lots and lots of sketches out there on the interwebs!

This is my card.  It's all about the colour this time!

I felt that I was neglecting that cute little octopus (well, I think it's cute!) so I decided that it was going to be featured.

I love the bright colours in this card and I do hope you like them as well!  Thank you for visiting, and I'd be very pleased if you'd now proceed in an orderly fashion to the next blog in the hop, by clicking below...

Spooky Bats

Hello, and welcome!
Earlier this year I came across the prettiest little gift bag, made by Caroline van Straaten.  It was done using the gift bag punch board and I just loved it, so of course I had to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) it.  And more than that, I loved it SOOO much that I had to do it again…

I made a couple of changes to the original.  First of all, I adjusted the measurements because I wanted a 6-panel bag, rather than the original 5.  And I folded the top edge in, instead of out.  And I didn’t use the Gift Bag Punch Board.

Here’s how it was made -

And here's a diagram.

Perfect for filling with treats for Hallowe'en, don't you think?

Artists' Trading...Coins!

 Hello, and welcome!

It's often said that crafters never waste anything!  If you've been crafting for any length of time, you've probably accumulated a stash of scraps - those precious bits that aren't big enough to make anything from but are too pretty to throw away... the extra die-cuts that you did while you had the Big Shot handy... the scraps of ribbon...

So when I came across the Artists' Trading Coins out there on the interwebs I had a substantial stock to get me started!
Artists' Trading Coins are like Artists' Trading Cards, but circular.  The only rules are the size - 2 1/2 inches in diameter - and  that they cannot be sold, only traded or given away.  Apart from that, anything goes!

Today's project is a handy little wallet to keep a selection of AT Coins organised and protected.

Have you been making AT Coins - or are you thinking of starting? Let me know!

Tricky Treat Box

Hello, and welcome.

Do you ever come across an idea that is just so simple but just genius, you don't know how it's never been thought of before?

The closure to this box is one of those ideas.  I first saw it shared by Caroline Helwigh (Crafty Caroline) and I knew that I wanted to use it - and I've been waiting for just the right project ever since.

This box can hold a treat - but there's a trick to opening it!

The band that holds it closed doesn't slide off ( it's stuck to the bottom of the box).  Instead, you need to slide the sentiment all the way over to the left.  Only then can you get to whatever goodies are inside!  Isn't that clever?

Of course, there's a tutorial - just visit my YouTube channel!

I saved some time by using the Stampin' Up! mini pizza boxes.  I love how these store flat and are so sturdy.  I use them for storing my small odds and ends (like beads) as well as for small gifts.  So useful!

So that's today's project!  Thanks for visiting me!

Tiny Autumn treat box

Hello, and welcome!

Oh, how I love this cute little box! It's just big enough to hold a few sweets, or a single chocolate truffle, or a small piece of jewellery.

The thinlets dies make this an easy project, and I had so much fun decorating it.  This is how it all went together.

What do you think would fit inside?

Matchbox explosion box

Hello and welcome!

I admit, I am a bit addicted to my crafty supplies.  Its not often I make something without using my Big Shot or stamps, so today's project is a bit of a departure.

I'm a bit late to the party with this one, too.  Somehow, I've only just managed to catch up with the Matchbox Explosion Box - there are lots of them on Pinterest and YouTube so I can't explain how I missed them all!

When you remove the lid, the box opens up to reveal four little drawers - so handy!

I used the envelope punch board and it made the construction so easy.  Apart from that, I used paper, card and a bit of ribbon and a doiley to decorate.  The Share What You Love paper is such good quality, it makes a nice sturdy box - as well as being so very pretty!

Here's how I made it_

I'll use mine for keeping my sewing kit organised - pins, embroidery scissors, tape measure, needles will all fit in the drawers.  What else could you use it for?

Beautiful Blizzard

Hello, and welcome!

I'm sharing the project that I made LIVE on Facebook.

It's a Twist & Pop card.  I can't stop making these cards!
Have you seen the new catalogue yet?  This bundle - Beautiful Blizzard - was right at the top of my shopping list.  I love making winter themed cards - they aren't necessarily for Christmas, and I think you could this bundle for a winter birthday or just to send a special message.

The edited video is now on my YouTube channel (if you want the unedited version, it's on my Facebook page - just search for Tuppence Coloured).

After saying that this doesn't have to before Christmas, of course it definitely could be a  holiday message for someone special.

Have you started your Christmas crafting yet? What's on your shopping list?  Don't be shy, let us know!
