You Float My Boat box card

Hello - or perhaps I should say "ahoy there!" because today’s project has a definitely nautical flavour.

I made this for my husband, who has great admiration for octopuses.  They really are pretty clever for a sea creature (and a bit sneaky too).
This style of card is a variation on the pop-up box card, only instead of the pop-up elements being on top of the box base, they are inside.

Here’s the tutorial (in which I also show how to get embossing powder to stick to dye-based ink...I’m as sneaky as an octopus...)

This kind of card is great for showing off those small stamps that you may have, as the space to be filled is quite restricted.  And of course, you can make any theme you choose- for today’s Blogger Bonus I’m sharing a more seasonal version.

Which do you prefer?  Let me know!

Keep crafting!

You Octopi my Thoughts

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog.

Does anyone else have a “thing” for octopuses?  My other half finds them quite fascinating, and thanks to him, now I do, too.  They are amazingly intelligent (not to say downright crafty) creatures.

So I had to get the Message in a Bottle stamps because of the octopus.  My husband insisted!   He also likes making puns (I can’t seem to stop him) so these stamps were just about perfect for him.

Today’s card is a very quick and easy one – sometimes you just need a card fast with a minimum of supplies.

PS – I did give the card to my husband and it’s on display on his bedside cabinet, so I think he liked it!

See you again soon,

Crafty hugs,

Upright Z fold card

Hello everyone, and welcome.

It's summer - well, it's supposed to be, although with the weather we've been having here lately it's not that easy to tell - which is a good time to be beside the sea.   So let's have a sea themed card, shall we?

This is an upright Z-fold card.  I'd never thought of turning one of these on its side, but I think it works well.  I know I'm going to make more of these!

Here's the tutorial -

Isn't it cute?  What do you think?

See you again soon,

Crafty hugs,

Keren
