All lit up

Hello and welcome to my blog.
Do you ever see something and in the SU catalogue and know exactly what you want to make with it?
When I saw the Hometown Greetings Edgelits I knew that I wanted to make a 3d scene – and that I wanted to light it up!

My original idea was to make a tunnel card, but on thinking it over I decided that I wanted to make something a bit longer-lasting.
This is how I did it –

One last thing – I used Tear & Tape to stick the battery pack to the underside of the frame but it wasn’t quite strong enough, so I added a couple of glue dots, which are holding everything where I want it to be.

And I made this as a Winter/Christmas project but you could change the colours and make it for a different season – seaside perhaps?

See you soon!

Crafty Hugs,

Keren

PS - If you're interested, I got my lights from Amazon UK

    1. Hi Kathie, thank you! I got the frame from the Range; Hobbicraft also sell them. I'm not sure where in the world you are, so if you're not in the UK try searching for a Shadow Box Frame.

  3. Hi Keren. Love your light box display. How many lights did you string through your box? I have the lights from Amazon but it seems so long compared to what it looks like in your video. Also did you punch holes in both ends of the scenes and string the lights back through? The video was sped up so fast that it was hard to tell. I love this project so much I'm making six for Christmas gifts! Thank you!

    1. Hi Patty, thanks for your kind comments. I found 5 lights were enough - you can cut the strings down if you can't find short lengths, or just use lots of lights. I did punch holes at both ends of the scenes - I tried just kind of wrapping the lights around one end but it didn't really work all that well! Hope you enjoy making the scene and hope the recipients love them! xxx
