Cup of flowers

Hello bloggists, and welcome.
There aren’t many weeks left before the new Annual catalogue comes into play at the beginning of June - how time flies!

One of the great privileges of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is that you get to see what’s coming ahead of time – and to get your hands on it early as well.  If you follow other SU demos, you’ve probably noticed projects made with some very yummy items indeed.

It also means that we’ll be saying goodbye to some old favourites, and items on the retiring list are being snapped up fast – I mean REALLY fast.  Retiring items are available only while stocks last, so if you see something you want, get it now – it might not be there if you come back later.

Today’s project uses a retiring DSP and stamp(boo!), and stamps and punches that are being carried over to the new catalogue (hooray!) Shaped cards are always fun to make and to receive, don't you think?

Here’s the tutorial –

If you like the shaped card, you can download a copy of the template here.

The best things in life are...sweet!

Hello Bloggists, and welcome!  Blogging has been a bit irregular lately - because I was part of the Pootlers  Birthday Blog this month, instead of blogging on Saturday I posted on Sunday.  The project I shared on Saturday I then posted to YouTube on Tuesday ...however, normal service has now been resumed!

I seem to have been making a lot of cards lately - so I thought it was time for a change.  Today I'm sharing this fold-flat box which I made to fit a bar of peppermint cream chocolate.  Emerald Envy was just the right colour and I got to use up some of my retiring supplies - bargain!

I wanted to show you how I measure and plan the box construction so there's quite a bit of measuring and so on involved in the tutorial.  (If you just want to jump to the actual making of the box, then skip to 11.52 in the tutorial)

I did make a bit of a boo-boo when I was filming this one and got the tuck-in flaps on the wrong edge.  It works OK but would be better if the glued edge was toward the back of the box.  The measurements and cutting plan for the box- with the flaps in the right place -  can be found here.

Thanks for visiting - please come again!

Party On!

Hello Bloggists, and welcome!

Surprise! It's not my usual day for blogging.  I've held on an extra day so that I can be part of the Pootles Birthday Club Blog Hop.  Yes, I am a Pootler, a member of Sam Hammond's team, and I am so happy to be taking part today.

Who loves balloons? ME!  I'm really pleased with the way this card came out, I LOVE the bright colours.

I was almost clever with the colours I used on the balloons.  After I finished it, I realised that the colour in the background of each balloon is the colour of the overlay to the one to its right.  If I'd been really clever, I'd have made the background of the one on the right Tangerine Tango so that is was the same as the overlay of the first balloon on the left, and then I could have pretended that I planned it all that way.

I hope you like it anyway - and thanks for visiting!

See you again soon,

Best Guy Ever Teepee Card

Hi Bloggists, welcome!

The retiring list is out!  Have you seen it yet?

The next annual catalogue will be out at the beginning of June, and at this time of year Stampin' Up! lets us know what won't be carrying over. So now's the time to get hold of the things that you've been putting off purchasing...because things sell out very quickly and once they're gone, they've gone.

Just about everything I used to make this card is going to retire.  Delightful Dijon is one of the retiring In Colours (making way for the five 2017-19 colours) so it's not really a surprise.   It's always sad to say goodbye to your favourites, but guess what - there'll be lots of new stuff coming along to take its place, so the glass is definitely more than half full!

I did struggle a bit with decorating this card.  It just wouldn't come out the way I wanted it to, so in the end, I kept it quite plain.

Here's the video -

What do you think?  What would you suggest to decorate this up a bit more?  Let me know!

See you again soon,

Swirly Sky Card

Hello bloggists, and welcome!

Today's card was inspired by this painting.

One of my favourites, by one of my favourite painters.  Of course, it's "Starry Night" by Van Gogh.  Here's how I made it -

Anybody else humming the song by Don Maclean?

Have a great day!

Vintage Love

Hello bloggists, and welcome.

I'm a big lover of vintage and distressed.  And I enjoy playing and getting inky.   I really enjoyed putting this card together.

Here's how it went together -
No "helper" this time - but I'm sure she'll be back!  Thank you for all the lovely comments on Youtube - although she's enough of a diva already, she doesn't need to be told how cute she is!

Geometric card

Hello bloggists, and welcome.  Look who's helping me to craft today!
This is Mysti, which is short for Mystique.  She's our Lilac Persian and she loves to join in crafting.  Usually, if she's around when I'm filming, she sits just off camera and supervises but this time she wanted to help.

This is the card we made -
And here's the tutorial - complete with guest appearance.
She didn't seem too impressed with the card - hope you like it, though!

See you again soon!

Glittery Stars Card

Hello bloggists, and welcome.

When I was small, the time between Christmas and my birthday in April seemed like forever.  These days it flies past – has anyone else noticed that?
Anyway, I’m in the mood to celebrate, and today’s card is as star-studded and glittery as you could wish.
It took me a long time to get round to using the Swirly Scribbles dies –in fact, I only bought them a few weeks ago – but, like with the Curvy Keepsake Box, I’m now wondering what I could have been thinking to wait so long!

Here’s how I played with it.

I am so pleased with the way this card came out; I think it’s quite gender-neutral and would be suitable for a wide age range – what do you think?

Double aperture card

Hello bloggists, and welcome!

Happy April!

April is my birthday month, so I'm sharing a birthday card today.

It could be an anything card really, but I've put a birthday message inside so it's a birthday card!

I was given a similar card to this on my birthday a few years ago and I really liked the design.  So I wanted to re-create it.

Here's the tutorial -

Do you like it too?

I really hope so!
