This is rather timely because earlier this week we celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary - I can hardly believe it!  

Of course my contribution has to feature hearts (what am I going to do without the Sweet and Sassy Framelits?) I'm going to give this card to some friends who are celebrating their first anniversary this weekend, and as they both love cats I've made use of the Cat punch (so happy that one's going to be in the new cat-alogue!)

"Polished Stone" card

Hello and welcome to my blog.  

Isn't it funny how things go in and out of fashion?  A few years ago techniques using glossy card were everywhere.  I'm so happy that glossy card is back in the SU catalogue, because it means I can revisit all those techniques.  

I had hours of fun back in the day with the polished stone technique - dabbing alcohol inks onto glossy card.  And then it sort of went out of style - we all moved on to something else.  A shame, because it's one of those techniques that give a great result so easily.

This card also features another great product from the back of the SU catalogue - the multipurpose adhesive sheets.  You'll be seeing me using them quite a bit, I promise!

This is another one of the tutorials that I filmed over the weekend when the South Wales Air Show was happening, so I voice-over'd the commentary - otherwise, you wouldn't have been able to hear what I was saying over the noise of the aircraft flying by outside.  I hope it's OK!

Glittery Stars Card

Hello bloggists, and welcome.

When I was small, the time between Christmas and my birthday in April seemed like forever.  These days it flies past – has anyone else noticed that?

Anyway, I’m in the mood to celebrate, and today’s card is as star-studded and glittery as you could wish.

It took me a long time to get round to using the Swirly Scribbles dies –in fact, I only bought them a few weeks ago – but, like with the Curvy Keepsake Box, I’m now wondering what I could have been thinking to wait so long!

Here’s how I played with it.

I am so pleased with the way this card came out; I think it’s quite gender-neutral and would be suitable for a wide age range – what do you think?

Hey Chick! Egg Carton

Hello bloggists and welcome!

I can't believe that it's almost the end of March and that Sale-a-Bration will soon be over.  In fact, this is the last-but-one Sale-a-Bration Saturday - how mad is that?  

I didn't think I'd get much use out of the rather funky chickens in the "Hey Chick" set, but they've grown on me and I shall miss demonstrating with them when they're no longer available.  Of course, they're a perfect match for the mini egg boxes in the Spring-Summer catalogue and it would have been wrong not to use them together.  Add a bit of bling with the Mint Macaron Glimmer paper and you've got a rather neat way of presenting Easter treats.

Don't forget, if you want to get your hands on some of the super things you can earn for FREE (everyone's favourite price!)  in the Sale-a-Bration catalogue, you need to act now.  When they're gone, they're gone and after March 31 they're gone for good!

Three Cheers for the Red, White & Blue!

Hello Bloggists, and welcome to my blog.

Monday was a public holiday here so I've had a nice long weekend away from the day job.   The OH and I went to the cinema to see Captain America- Civil War (which I really enjoyed, by the way!)  So guess where I got the inspiration for this - 

This would be a good card for any superhero fan and it's a quick and easy one to make- here's how I made it -

My Twisted Valentine

Hello there and welcome!

Something that most crafters seem to have in common is that we never waste anything.  I have boxes full of scraps of “precious” paper, and every now and then I give myself a firm talking-to and promise myself that I will get rid of all of those things I don’t need any more, usually without much success  (I am going to be selling off my retired SU stamp sets ANY DAY NOW...I MEAN it..)  Today’s card proves that I was right to keep all those little bits , because it was made with  bits and pieces that were left over from other projects.

The twist-fold card base was one of two I got from the same piece of Sahara Sand  card I used when I made the Going Global card.  I cut the Bloomin’ Heart in Glimmer paper and Blushing Bride card when I was making the Pot Pourri box, and I also cut the small flowers at the same time...the DSP was cut from scraps of Timeless Elegance paper that I’d used on another project, and the sentiment is stamped onto a scrap of Blushing Bride from my scraps box.

Don’t you just LOVE it when you can make good use of the leftover bits?
