Sticky Notes holder

Hello, and welcome!

In my day job, I work in an office, and it seems as if we run on sticky notes!

We stick them on the wall to keep track of things we need to do.  We leave messages for one another, use them to write reminders for ourselves - and even use them to clean between the keys on our keyboards ( if you've never come across that particular trick, you run the sticky edge of the note between the keys - it picks up all the dust and yucky stuff that gets stuck in there!)

Today's project is a cute holder, and I've made it using the envelope punch board - which is an amazingly versatile bit of kit.

Here's how -

These are quick and easy to make, and I'm making a batch of them as thank you gifts for my customers in July.

And speaking of July - Stampin' Up! are offering a FAB-U-LOUS bonus for new Demonstrators who join in July.  As well as your Starter Kit of £130-worth of items (which you choose!) for your £99 joining fee, you get to choose one of the ink pad families - that's 10 ink pads that usually sell for £63! Which will you choose?  Soft Subtles, rich Regals, bold Brights, necessary Neutrals or In Colours?
What a great time to join Stampin' Up!

Keep crafting!

Tranquil Tide Mini Album

Hello - and welcome!

As I'm writing the, it's the first day of two weeks summer leave, and it's a glorious, sunny day.  Even better, the weather forecast says the fine weather is going to stay around for a while, so we're making plans to head for the beach while it lasts and naturally, I'll be taking photographs for my scrapbooks.

I did a lot of scrapbooking a few years ago - I find it very relaxing, as for me, it's something I like to take time over. Selecting the pictures to go in the scrapbook brings back memories and it's fun to relive those days.

Of course, you need an album to put your pictures in- so that's what I've been working on today.

When I'm making a mini scrapbook, I want to have lots of interactive elements - pages with flaps that lift up or tabs to pull, so I'll be showing you what I've done over the coming weeks - in between the usual one-and-done tutorials.  I'd be very happy if you join me!

It's a gift!

Hello, and welcome!
I always think there’s something a little bit magical about dry-embossing.  Taking a plain piece of card and adding depth and texture – I never get tired of seeing the magic happen.  And the latest generation of Dynamic embossing folders really add the “Wow!” factor.
The tufted embossing folder went right to the top of my shopping list when I saw it in the catalogue and I couldn’t wait to get using it.
Today’s project is a gift card holder, but with a real feel of luxury about it.

Take the top off the box and the gift card is inside!

I designed this so that it could form the front of a greeting card – so could stand up on a table -  and still be opened easily.

Here’s the tutorial-

If you want the cutting/scoring diagram, then here it is!

If you’ve not discovered the joys of embossing folders yet, why not have a look at those on offer in the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue?  There’s a link at the bottom of this page – or if you would like a “real” copy, get in touch and I’ll let you know how to get one.

Thanks for visiting,

Keep Crafting,

Keren

Coastal Living

Hello, and welcome.

I don't know how it is where you live, but here in South Wales the weather can be a bit - well, unpredictable.  We hope for sunny days in the summer months, but we often don't get them.  This year, however, we've had some warm weather, and so everyone heads for the beach.

I'm so lucky to live within walking distance of this!

I've been inspired to make some projects with a sea-side theme - including today's sweet little box.

It holds two Yankee Candle tealights - the fragrance is called Coastal Living, so it's very appropriate, don't you think?  - and they are an almost perfect colour match to Mint Macaron.  I was so pleased when Mint Macaron returned in the Colour Revamp.  I did miss it when it retired.

I'm also loving the Under the Sea framelits  which I've used to decorate my box - and I promise you you're going to see me using them again very soon, because it seems that my crafting mojo is enjoying sunning itself on the beach and sending me wish-you-were-here postcards!

Here's the tutorial -

And here's the cutting/scoring diagram.

I do hope you enjoyed the tutorial and wherever you are or whatever the weather, keep crafting!

Keren

High Tide

Hello and welcome!

Today I've been trying my hand at stamping on a different surface.   I'll be quite honest, it was a bit of an experiment, stamping directly on to wood, but I'm really pleased with the way it turned out!

The idea I had was to make something that looked like pyrography on driftwood - I don't know if I succeeded but I like the effect anyway!   All the inks I used on the panel (which is made of large lolly sticks) are water-based.  To mask off the lighthouse, I used artist's masking fluid because I wanted to make sure that, when I blended the colours the water wouldn't get where I didn't want it.  I wasn't sure that I'd be able to get it off again - but as you can see, it all worked out OK.

I am so please that these stamps carried over into the new annual catalogue.  If you've followed this blog, you're probably aware that I live by the sea (yes, I do know how lucky I am!) and my husband loves seaside-themed items, so with Father's day coming up, this one is going to be for him (from the cat, of course!)

And now I've started with the seaside theme, I've got a few more ideas bubbling up in my brain, so please do come back and see how they work out!

Ta-ta for now!

Keep crafting,

Keren

Elegant Box - Part 2

Hello, and welcome!

Last time I shared a tutorial on making this rather elegant box and promised I'd show you what was inside - and so here it is!

I made a pair of earrings from embellishments left over from the Spring catalogue (I keep my left over embellies for that reason - SU's quality is so good, they make great jewellery!).  The pop-up section could easily be adapted to display a pendant or a pin.

Here's the tutorial -

See you again soon

Crafty Hugs,

Keren

PS Have you seen the colour revamp yet?

Wouldn't this box look amazing in one of the new colours?  Do you have a favourite?  I'm so happy to see Coastal Cabana and Blackberry Bliss return! Let me know which you like best!
