Hello, and welcome!

No, you aren’t seeing things – it’s a blog post on a Sunday.  Not my normal day for blogging, but it’s a special occasion.  This month I celebrate three years as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  The time’s flown by, and in recognition of the occasion,  I’ve made myself a card and joined in the Pootlers Birthday Blog hop.

If you’ve landed here by following the link from Sam Hammond’s blog, then you already know what it’s all about.  If you’ve arrived on this post by another route, please do hop over to Sam’s blog where all will be made clear and you can see what some of my team-mates have been making.

For my card, I wanted to use the Bundle of Love DSP, and wanted a Powder Pink background with gold foil.  However, this DSP doesn’t come in that combination – I could have Blushing Bride and Very Vanilla, or gold foil and Very Vanilla.  So I customised my paper, by sponging Powder Pink over the foiled side.  I really like the result!

What else?  I made some knotted Powder Pink ribbon roses, added a doily and a bit of lace trim, a stamped & embossed sentiment and some washi tape.  (You can see what I used at the bottom of this post).

Hello bloggists!  My, it's good to have you visit!

As you will see from the picture above, I'm taking part in the Pootlers and Artful Stampers blog hop today.  I'm a Pootler - that is, one of Sam Hammond's team of Stampin' Up demonstrators, and the Artful Stampers are based in Australia.  

The hop theme was "anything goes" and I was feeling in need of some bright and cheerful colours so this is what I've made!

On my Soapbox!

Well hello everyone and welcome to my bit of the second Pootlers' Blog hop!

If you're following the blog in order then you already know that the Pootlers are Stampin' Up! demonstrators who belong to Sam Donald's team.  If you've arrived in the middle of things, you can go back to the previous blog or on to the next one by using the buttons at the bottom of the page.  

The theme of the hop is the new SU catalogue, which came into play at the beginning of this month.  (There's a link to the PDF version at the bottom of the page if you haven't seen a copy yet...)  I've used Timeless Elegance DSP and a stamp from the Homemade for You stamp set, both brand new in the catalogue to decorate this little flip-top box (which holds a cake of soap).  The Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla cardstock, Sahara Sand ink, and Sahara Sand lace trim are returning favourites.

To make a box the same size as this one (which measures 2 x 2 x 1 inches) you'll need a piece of card 7 1/2 x 4 inches.

Score it on the long side at 1 1/2 inch, 2 1/2/ inches, 3 1/2 inches  and 5 1/2 inches.
Score on the short side at 1 inch and 3 inches.
