Love is in the air..

Hello everyone, and welcome to my blog.

As you probably know, I'm an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I truly love SU! products.    However,  I was a crafter long before I discovered SU! and I've always enjoyed creating things from scratch.  So now and then, I'd like to share a technique that I've picked up here and there.

One of my Facebook friends shared a link to these rolled crepe paper roses and I had to have a go.  They are so easy to do (warning - they are addictive!) and here are my first attempts -

The instructions suggested working with a length of about 2 feet of crepe paper streamer.  I got the streamers from Amazon and they cost me £1.80 each.  There's over 80 feet on a roll so you can get lots of flowers out of one streamer.  You simply fold over one edge of the length of crepe paper and roll it up, giving it a twist every so often to create the look of petals.

I found that you could vary the size of the rose as well.  For a large rose I used about 2 feet of crepe paper and folded over the top third;  for a medium rose I used about 1 1/2 feet of streamer and folded it in half, and  I made small roses by using just about 1 foot of paper and folding it in thirds.  The heart below took one streamer with a couple of roses left over -

I hot-glued them to a polystyrene heart base and added some Stampin' Up! burlap ribbon (well, SU! had to get in there somewhere!)
Here's a quick tutorial -

Hope you enjoyed.  If you have any questions, please get in touch.  I love to hear from you.

Till next time,

Crafty hugs,
Keren
