Pop Up Flowerpot

Hello, and welcome!

You know I love pop-up cards, right?

Today’s project is a pop-up flowerpot.  I was inspired by a YouTube video by Karen Burniston, and wanted to reproduce something similar using Stampin’ Up! products.  It turned out to be one of those projects that just don’t work as planned!

In fact, I made it (almost!) twice.  The first version was a standard 4 by 5 ¾ card, and I discovered that I didn’t like it, so I remade it as a 4 x 4 square.  I also discovered that the sprigs and leaves got a bit floppy, so I cut two of each and stuck them together back to back.

Here’s how I made it –

I really like how the Grapefruit Grove gingham paper looks with the Mint Macaron card.  Grapefruit Grove is a colour I’ve struggled to use up until now, but it works fine with the Mint Macaron.  Maybe I can learn to love it after all – it’s going to be with us for another year so there’s time!

Lots of the other things I’ve used in this project are going to be retiring, though, so if there are any products that are on your wish list and the retiring list, then don’t wait – these items will only be there while stocks last.  I’ll be sad to say goodbye (but happy to say hello to the new things coming soon!)

Keep Crafting,

Keren

Mini Album - Page 2

Hi everyone, and welcome!

Today I'm continuing with my mini album project.

I wanted something a bit simpler to back onto the first page (which did have a lot of flaps) so the second page just has three slots to hold mini folders.

After I'd finished it, I realised that I could have made it with flaps to fold out - so maybe I'll repeat the design later on in the book (after all, there are 10 more sides still to go!)
The embellishments were stamped using a retired set...I was sorry to see this one go and while I often sell my retired stamps to raise money to buy new ones, I couldn't bear to part with these!

It's still way too warm to turn off the fans here, so once again I've voiced-over this video.  I do hope it isn't too bad an effort! It was touch and go as to whether this tutorial got published - I had a major problem with my computer and for a while I was afraid that I was going to have to wipe my hard drive and re-install the operating system - and of course, I hadn't finished uploading my finished projects to YouTube.  But as you can see, I managed to get the machine working.

As I upload each video in this project, I'm adding them to a playlist so if you missed any, you can easily find the previous episodes.

Anyway, that's today's bog.  I hope you're enjoying this series!

Keep Crafting,

Keren

Instant break - just add water!

Hi everyone and welcome!

OK, so today I should have been sharing my contribution to the InspireINK blog hop, but due to circumstances beyond everyone's control it's been postponed for a week.  Luckily, I had got a bit ahead with my planning and I have this ready to share instead.

I love how, by packaging up inexpensive treats, they can become something special.  My little pouch has a coffee bag, a chocolate biscuit and some sugar and coffee whitener inside - just add water for an instant coffee break!

The inspiration for this pouch was a box that had chocolates in.  They were a gift, but I have been known to buy things because they came in an interesting box and I wanted to take it apart to see how it was made - anybody else do that?

Here's the tutorial -

And here's the cutting/scoring diagram

Wasn't it lucky that the Call Me Clover card and DSP is such a good match for the packaging of the coffee bag I had?  I love it when a plan comes together! Not long now until the new catalogue is open for business - I'm SOOOO excited!

That's it for today, see you again soon!

Keep crafting,

Keren
