Could this be cheating?

Hello and welcome.

Let's be honest. sometimes you don't have time to create an item from scratch, especially if you have to make several copies of whatever you're making.  At times like these, prefabricated items are a godsend!

April is a busy month for me and my family.  We have birthdays and anniversaries throughout - my sister, two nieces, a nephew, my father-in-law and myself all have birthdays.  Oh, and my husband and I were married in April as well.  So there's quite a bit of gift-giving going on.  And although it does feel a bit like cheating, I'm sharing how I take shop-bought gift bags from drab to fab!

It's magic...

Hello and welcome!   Today I've been making a magic slider card.
It starts off a bit plain and uninteresting, but pull the tab and..

It's magic!

Here it is in action.  If you don't know the secret, the effect is - well, quite magical.  The Magical Day stamps were just begging to be used to make this card, don't you think?

Here's the tutorial.

I used my Stamparatus to help me, but if you haven't got yours yet (and it will be coming in the next annual catalogue) I recommend cutting your window sheet oversized and then trimming it down once you've done the stamping.

InspireINK - Fancy folds

Hello and welcome to my bit of the latest InspireINK Blog Hop!

This month's theme was set by the lovely Helzie Lou, and this time it is (fanfare)
Oh, how I LOVE fancy folds and pop-ups!  The difficult part was deciding which one I was going to do for my contribution.

In the end, I went with this Twist/Turn card.

I think the little knight from the Myth & Magic suite is so cute so I had to put him on the front of the card.  With St David's Day not far away, a red dragon had to get in on the act as well!  Red is my favourite colour but it's so strong I usually keep it for accents.  It looks FAB with the Basic Grey/Smokey Slate DSP though!

There will be a tutorial on my YouTube channel soon, but for now, please go and see what Tina's got to share with you on the

See you again soon,

Keep Crafting,

You're one of a kind...

Hello and welcome to my blog.

Today’s card is for that special, one-of-a-kind person in your life, so of course it features a unicorn – and a flying one at that!

I wanted my unicorn to soar above the surface of my card, so I mounted it on a “boinger” – which is paper (or in this case, acetate) folded to make a spring.

You fold two strips of paper over each other at right angles until your spring is long enough.  However, I probably should have made my spring another fold longer, so my unicorn is higher off the card at the front side.  See how that happened in the tutorial-

I rather like it, so I’ve decided to live with it.  There are ready-made springs or “wobblers” available (you may have to hunt for them!) , and if you can get hold of some you might prefer to use them.

Love the Myths & Magic suite - don't you?  The little characters are rather retro - and I adore the dragon.  I'm sure I'll be making more items with them (in fact, I know I will because I've got a couple of projects lined up...so don't forget to check back from time to time to see what I'm up to!)

Keep Crafting,

Keren
