InspireINK Bog Hop - Autumn

Hello, and welcome!

It's Inspireink Blog Hop day, when this blog links up with others the challenge to bring you lots of inspiration!  This time the theme is  -

I've made a double-gatefold card, featuring a wreath of punched leaves and sprigs autumnal shades (I used Cajun Craze, Mango Melody, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry with a touch of Soft Suede and Mossy Meadow here and there.)  It's great way of using up scraps of card.

I embossed the front panels with the Tin Tile  dynamic embossing folder and dry-brushed them with Bright Copper shimmer paint - I took a tiny amount of paint on a dry brush with stiff bristles, wiped most of the paint off, and then lightly brushed what was left  all over the panel.   (The secret of success for this technique is less paint, more brushing!) The dry-brushing helps to make the texture stand out.

I chose "Give Thanks" as my sentiment.  We don't have a Thanksgiving holiday here in the UK but we do have  harvest festivals, so I thought it was a suitable message.  The copper embossing looks good on the Pool Party card, don't you think?

Hello bloggists, and welcome.

It’s a quick project today, featuring the large letters thinlets.  I did think long and hard before I bought these, as I think I’ve said before, but in the end I couldn’t resist them;  I really like this font.

Having got them, I want to get some use out of them and I thought they’d be great for making personalised gifts.  Playing with shrink plastic is fun as well...

If you’ve never used shrink plastic, it can be quite scary when it starts to heat up and twist and curl, but be brave...it will lie flat in the end.  

I just went  with an initial for these keychain charms, but of course you could make all the letters in someone's name if you wanted.

Copper top box

Hello bloggists, and welcome to my blog. 

Believe it or not, it wasn't until after I'd made this little explosion box that I realised now much it looked like a well-known brand of battery...I just wanted to play with the absolutely LUSH copper foil card.  I've always loved copper, even when I had the job of polishing my mother's ornaments as a child.

It's a teeny-tiny box, this one. It holds a bottle of nail varnish very snugly. It won't be long before Secret Santa time comes around again and we have a very challenging price limit in our office - the gift mustn't cost more than £1.  This nail varnish would qualify (even though it's a named brand) because I got it as an incentive gift with another purchase.

I had to think a bit about how to make a rectangular explosion box.  Here's how I did it-
