Box Card

Hello, and welcome!

Gift cards are always well-received in our family.  I realise that there are those who say that they are a  lazy gift, but I'm not among them.  I get as much pleasure from choosing what I'm going to spend my vouchers on as from the items themselves, and I can take a LONG time choosing, which prolongs the pleasure.

They aren't the most interesting looking things, though, so I'm always on the lookout for cute ways of presenting them.

Today I've made a card that opens up to reveal a box, which can hold a gift card, or something else flat - like a lottery ticket, banknotes or a note to a special someone!

Here's how I made it - 

Isn't the gingham paper (coming soon) lovely?  Did you notice the stamps?  They're in the Sale-a-Bration promotion, which starts next month - very soon now - so be sure to keep checking back to find out more!

Storage Jar Gift Card holder

Hello, and welcome!

So – I’ve been teasing you (just a little bit!) with hints about some of the lovely things in the Autumn/winter catalogue, and today’s the day that it opens for business!

I’m so happy to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and to be able to get my hot little hands on supplies before the catalogues are open to customers.  I’ve always got a long shopping list of must-haves and this is no exception. 

The Galvanised paper was at the top of that list, closely followed by the Buffalo Check stamp (love me some gingham patterns!)

This gift card holder is CASEd from a few sources, but I spotted it first on MayMay Made it.  I thought it would look great in the Galvanised paper, and I think I was right.

With Christmas just around the corner, and my son's birthday in November, I know I'll find plenty of reasons to send gift cards and this is a cute way of presenting a card.

The envelope punch board made it easy to put together. It’s such a versatile piece of kit and it does so much more than make envelopes – although it does that, too!

Flip-Flap Gift Card Holder

 Hi folks, and welcome.   

Who likes getting a gift card for a present?  I certainly do.  I have so much fun choosing what I'm going to get, and I spend hours making sure I get the best value that I can out of the voucher!  

Today's project is a way of presenting a gift card.  

When you pull the flap, the card holder slides out and flips over automatically

This project does need some care in the measuring but if you follow the tutorial step by step you should be able to make the magic happen.  Here's the video -

By the Shore- Double Slider Gift Card Holder

This is what I've been making this time.  I so enjoy making action cards and this one turned out to be much easier than it looked.

I love the colours in the By the Shore DSP.  The picture makes them look very vivid - in real life they are a bit softer.

Gift Card Treat Bag

Hi bloggists, welcome to my blog.

Gift cards are always useful.  I love getting one - I spend hours deciding how best to spend them, it's so much fun- I want to get the best possible value for money.

I'll be the first to admit, though, that they aren't very visually exciting and I usually try to find some way of fancying up the presentation.   I usually give gift cards to my sons-my older son has his birthday at the end of this month, so I daresay that's why I've got them on my mind!

This DSP is new in this year's catalogue.  I chose this one as, even though it's a floral design, it's not pretty-pretty and feminine, so it's perfect for my grown-up lad.  As usual, here's the tutorial -

Could it be magic?

Hello bloggers, and thank you for visiting.

Normally on a Saturday, I share a picture of one of the cards I've been making.  I usually save my video projects for Tuesday.  This is because it isn't always easy for me to record, edit and share more than one project a week- I don't have a craft room or even a craft table and when I record a YouTube video I'm working on a large picnic table (which is why sometimes it gets a bit bouncy).

But - Christmas is coming,  And if I keep to my one-a-week routine you won't get to see the projects I have in mind before next year.  So, for the next few weeks at least, I'll be uploading videos a bit more often.

So with that in mind, here's my latest offering -

It's a magic wallet card.  These make a great way of presenting a gift card.  It kept my husband busy for quite some time trying to figure out how it works.  You can find sturdy ones made out of fabric - and they cost quite a bit. They are quite straightforward provided you follow the instructions. (If you want written instructions you can find them here).

It's a Gift!

Hello and thank you for visiting today.

If you've been looking at the projects on my blog, you might have noticed that I love cards that move or flip or pop up.  Paper engineering has fascinated me ever since I got my first pop-up book as a child.  I've always wanted to unscrew the inscrutable and take things to bits to see how they work.

Today I'm sharing a nifty little way of presenting a gift card, which I CASE'd from Susannah Jepson (Stampin' Suse)

In the course of making these, I also discovered that you can shrink craft foam! Who knew?!
Here's the tutorial - 

The measurements again -

You need cardstock - 

For the outer part - 10" x 3 3/4", score at 1 1/4" and 6"
Inner pocket slider - 2 3/4" x 5 7/8", score at 1 1/4" and 5 3/8"
