Hello Bloggists, and welcome! Well, I survived my first live-streamed virtual workshop. I was SOOOO nervous all day before it - I felt as if I were about to have an interview for a new job. I was afraid that nobody would turn up, or that they wouldn't like the projects or join in the chat....in the end, it all went OK apart from when I got over-excited and knocked the tripod over. I couldn't even blame the cat, she was nowhere near at the time. If you joined me for the event, thank you so much, I really, really appreciated your support. Anyway, I will be scheduling the next one in time for the catalogue launch at the start of June. Are you excited yet? There's some gorgeous stuff coming up! However, we still have a couple of weeks left to play with the current catalogues and this is what I've been making -

It's another use-it-up project today, with Lost Lagoon ink and card leaving at the end of the mother, along with the World Traveller stamps, the striped cotton ribbon, the very vintage buttons and the antique brads...the Hardwood stamp is staying though (whew!) Hello bloggists! Today I made a teepee card. Being a bit of a Sci-fi geek (I met my husband at a Star Trek convention - and yes, we were both in costume) the shape when folded reminds me of a Star Trek com badge - or an arrowhead.
I like the way this card folds up to fit in an envelope, too. You could decorate this shape in lots of ways but this time I thought I'd play with the Going Global/world traveller suite of products in the Spring/Summer catalogue.
Once upon a time, when
my children were small, I would spend hours doing origami (you don’t need much
in the way of tools and if small hands get hold of it – well, it’s just a piece
of paper). I don't do so much of it these days, but I do still love a fancy fold card.
This style of card - originated by Kelly Gettelfinger - is absolutely genius. It is so easy to make but looks as if it took ages and doesn't need much in the way of embellishments to make it look the bees knees. .I love these papers and stamps as well.They’re wonderful for “man cards” Here's the video -

Yes, that cat is spoiled rotten. Really, though, she was quite unwell not too long ago and I'm just happy she's well enough to be naughty. I'm not really such a soft touch. Well, perhaps a bit... Hello blog friends - glad to see you! I'm a day late with my blogging this week. The run-up to Halloween is always a busy time, and this year was no exception. If you've been dropping in to visit, you might have noticed that I've been busy (in my Other Persona) taking part in a month long blog hop. It was a real challenge and I think I've earned a bit of alien down! Anyway, back to normal with this rocker card. I've used Home for Christmas and Lost Lagoon DSP and pleated the rosette on my Simply Scored board. You might wonder why I haven't photographed the card in the mini studio - this is why -
As soon as she saw it being put up she did her world- famous impersonation of a cheetah and got in there. She's resisted all attempts at removal and is still there as I write. Hope she'll be out by next week!

I've been wanting to play with the circle spinner card die for some time and the Home for Christmas DSP inspired me to get going. I really like this paper!
The dies make it so easy to create one of these cards - but these cards have a hidden panel inside. You could hide a gift card or some vouchers inside, or just special message.

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Today's post is...a Christmas card. I know, I know, it's only July...but when you make cards you can't start on Christmas too soon. This stamp set was the first one I bought from Stampin' Up! and I'm so pleased that it's in the Annual Catalogue now. It has a matching set of Framelits dies as well, but I didn't use them on this card.

I love crafting
with paper, but I also love learning how to make new things, and today’s
project is a two-in-one – as well as the sweet little box that holds the tin of
lip balm, I also made the lip balm.
The tins I used fitted very nicely into a 1 ½ diameter hole so I made my boxes accordingly.
The measurements were –
Cardstock 10 inches by 4 inches
Score on the long edge at 1 inch, 3 inches, 4 inches, 6 inches,7 inches, 7 ½ inches, and 9 ½ inches – these last two score lines will help form the holder for the tin
Score on the short edge at 1 inch and 3 inches. Also score at ½ inch and 3 ½ inches part way at the end of the card where the holder will be (the 7 ½ and 9 ½ inch points)
The tutorial explains how to put it all together.
The lip balm is very simple to make; to fill two 15 ml tins you need 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of
coconut oil and 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of beeswax. Melt the beeswax over hot water, and then add
in the coconut until that’s melted as well.
You can also do this in the microwave – try 30 seconds at a time. Once the beeswax is melted, the coconut oil
won’t take long so be careful!
If you want it to taste nice, put in a few
drops of flavouring (the sort you use in cooking; I used lemon in mine) and if
you want it to be tinted, add in a bit of lipstick. I also pierced a Vitamin E capsule and added
that to the mix – it acts as a preservative as well as being good for the skin. Mix it all together and pour into whatever
container you’re using.

Hello everyone and thank you for joining me. I had a great time at our SU training day, and I got to see some of the new products that are coming soon (June 2nd) in the new catalogue. (One of the many advantages of being a SU demonstrator is that we get sneak peeks of upcoming products - combine that with the discount and you can't go wrong!) Today, though, we're still working with product that's in the 2014-15 catalogue (and will be carrying over to the new one). I'm showing you another kinetic card. It's based on the double slider mechanism that is operated by a plastic strip that runs around a carrier.
After I'd filmed the tutorial, I realised that I could have made my life a lot easier by turning the card and frame over, putting the frame in position, and marking the slit that the cat runs along on the back...you live and learn! Here's the tutorial.
